4 Books I Plan on Reading in 2019
By Carmen, 2 January 2019
Cheers to 2019
And so, 2018 has come and gone and we’ve started 2019.
I originally started this little goal last year; and I plan on carrying on with it this year – with only one difference – instead of a hefty 6 books, I’ve gone down to four. I just barely managed to get last year’s pile done – and am still reading the last one from last year’s pile. So I’m putting less pressure on myself this year.
Without further ado – let’s jump into the pile.
GoT: A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin:
What would this pile be without me carrying on with GoT?
I’m really excited to be carrying on with this series.
Over You by Lucy Diamond:
I’ve got to include something light in this pile. Last year’s pile had quite a few serious (heavy) books, with the rest being medium type reads. Need to switch it up this year.
The Little Friend by Donna Tartt:
This is another one that I’m really looking forward to.
Dark Places by Gillian Flynn:
I’m hoping that this one is going to satisfy the Psychological Thriller category.
Last Word:
Alright – I’ve read books from all of these authors.
George R.R. Martin – 3rd book
Lucy Diamond: 2nd book
Donna Tartt: 2nd book
Gillian Flynn: 3rd book
I have an idea of the sort of writing styles and genres I’m delving into here – the bottom two I’ve mentioned are most likely going to be books that have a lot of serious (heavy) reading in them; ‘Over You’ is going to be lighter reading, and ‘A Storm of Swords’ is going to be fantasy.
Even though I like reading your ‘heavier’ books because it gives me things to think about; I also need to break it up with some lighter reading otherwise I get a little too weighed down with the ‘thinking’ of the heavier books. ‘A Storm of Swords’ is most likely going to be a medium type read.
What will you be reading in 2019?
Enjoy,
Carmen
