Blurb:

Join Gemma, an unsuspecting orphan, as she finds herself swept away to Goblidet, a world of magic and mystery, where not everything is as it seems. Magic is controlled and regulated by the High Authority for the greater good, but often the lines between good and evil are blurred.

In Goblidet, forbidden magic comes with a heavy price, and powerful affinity magic runs in bloodlines. The truth about Gemma’s past is fraught with fears, hopes, and expectations.

Worse, there also lurks a hidden darkness here—an unexpected foe, and a tyrant poised to pounce.

My Take on the Book:

There was some interesting foreshadowing that went on. There was a particular grey minor female character that I ended up liking. One character I wasn’t totally sold on was Tobler.

I ended up giving this book a four star rating and got a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Last Word:

I enjoyed this author’s writing style – and wouldn’t mind picking up another book of theirs.

Enjoy,
