Bookish Ramblings # 12: (Another) Bookish Buzz Word
By Carmen, 14 January 2019
Hello Everyone,
It appears as if I’ve picked up another bookish buzz word this year – any books that have contemplative topics will be a book that I’ll most likely enjoy. Below I’ve compiled a list of contemplative books that I have enjoyed up until this point.
List:
- The Six: Kristy by Samantha March
- The Six: Scarlett by Samantha March
- Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
- Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
- Queen Elizabeth: The Queen Mother – The Official Biography by William Shawcross
- The Green Ticket by Samantha March
- Sister Dear by Laura McNeill
- Heavier than Heaven: The Biography of Kurt Cobain by Charles R. Cross
- Defining Her by Samantha March
- White Oleander by Janet Fitch
- Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult
As you can see, this list is relatively short, which indicates that I will only put the most necessary books on this list. But now – I’ve decided to go a step further, and divide the above books into categories: Light, Medium and Heavy.
Light:
- The Green Ticket by Samantha March
Medium:
- The Six: Kristy by Samantha March
- The Six: Scarlett by Samantha March
- Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
- Queen Elizabeth: The Queen Mother – The Official Biography by William Shawcross
- Sister Dear by Laura McNeill
- Heavier than Heaven: The Biography of Kurt Cobain by Charles R. Cross
- Defining Her by Samantha March
Heavy:
- White Oleander by Janet Fitch
- Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
But for those who still can’t quite decide what will be to your taste, I’ll go even further and divide it into topics.

- Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
- Sister Dear by Laura McNeil
- White Oleander by Janet Fitch

- Queen Elizabeth: The Queen Mother – The Official Biography by William Shawcross
- Heavier than Heaven: The Biography of Kurt Cobain by Charles R. Cross

So pick whichever one suits your fancy. I’ve also done a shelf on Goodreads for Contemplative Books – so please feel free to check it out. Also be sure to let me know what books you would put into this category on social media.
Enjoy,
Carmen
